Upon opening the door, he is confronted by a man who wants to rob him of his life's savings. When the old man refuses to give up his treasures, the intruder strangles him. But "the Tell-tale heart" is the intruder's undoing. |

The next stop is at the Village Vanguard, where the Modern Jazz Quartet plays "Vieni," "One never knows" and "Conflagration. 1960-05-05 Side B: Mystery time 50 (END-537). Mystery Time presents the thriller, "I'll dance on your grave", starring Lawson Zerbe and Athena Lord. The story opens in a music hall where a beautiful, young girl is auditioning for a Broadway producer. A famous dancer needs a partner, and Anita Barnes seems to be the best bet. Tony, the dancer, and Anita decide to get married. To complicate things, their press agent falls in love with Anita too. The second portion of the program takes you to the Voyager Room, in the Henry Hudson Hotel, New York, where you'll hear Bobby Hackett and his men playing "Alla hadra", "It's all in your mind", "Perdido", "Spain", and "Fidgety feet." Tommy Reynolds is the jazz commentator. Side B: Mystery time 51 (END-537). George Petrie stars in Joseph Green's gripping thriller, "They'll never believe me." A reporter sees an old man walk out into the middle of the street in front of an oncoming automobile. Too late to shout, the reporter watches the accident. As a result of the accident, the man is stricken by amnesia. The reporter tries to help the man uncover his cloudy past. |

An elderly scientist finds himself involved in a weird experiment, as he is called to Los Angeles to participate in a scientific spectacle. Mystery time brings a highly suspenseful story about a famous artist with a violent disposition who finds revenge in a very unusual way. The story takes place in Snow Valley, Idaho, a winter resort high in the mountains. It's late autumn and the snow has fallen. The artist is being examined by a doctor, and is given six months to live. He's aware that his wife will cheat in the romance department, and freezes her lover inside the "abominable" snowman. Kathleen Cordell plays the leading role in the tale, aptly titled, "Their cold companion." |

circa May 1958. From Ben Harriman's New York Cafe Metropole at 7th Avenue & 48th street, it's the Metropole All-Stars, with house band leader, Henry "Red" Allen, Buster Bailey. Claude Hopkins, Gene Rayme(?), J.C. Higgenbotham with Coleman Hawkins sitting in. "I Would do Anything for Your", "Basin Street Blues", and "Song of the Islands" are featured. The second portion of the program brings Bobby Hackett's Jazz Group from the Voyager Room at the Hotel Hudson playing "Ill Wind", "It. Don't Mean a Thing", "Swiss Criss", "Lady With the Lavender Hair", and "Cancel the Flowers". On the reverse of the disc is the rad io show "Mystery Time" #71 from December 1958 with a tale written by Robert Steven Brody, entitled "All Damages Covered", where a woman attempts to get away with murder, but can't get away from her own conscience. 25 minutes. |
